WEEK 2: Sun Sept 18 2011
PICKS OF THE WEEK:
Week 2 : There was a few upsets in week one of the 2011 season, and not just like oh wow that team “won” or “lost” but WOW how they won or lost. The Steelers gave the ball up 7 times to the Ravens Defence. The Patriots and Tom Brady put up 611 yards of offence. The Colts are nothing without Manning. Are the Redskins for real this year? The Bills are better than except or the Chiefs are now just terrible and how did Cowboys self-destruct so well. All these questions and statements may mean nothing in January when it really counts but stepping into week two of the NFL season it has fans excited and jumping for joy. Because on Any Given Sunday, you never know what HISTORY, GREATEST MOMENT or UPSET may take place. Gotta love this game.
AFC and NFC games of the week:
S @ 4:15pm San Diego at New England - Basically this is the preview of the AFC championship game or at least some time during the playoffs to see who will be advancing to the super bowl. This time to be straight up it will not be San Diego. The Patriots are too hot right now, they are not skipping a beat, but once the offences of the world start picking apart the Pats Defence come time January they will be easy pickings. Since the 2004 Super-Bowl the Patriots have never made any real noise except for that season with Randy Moss where they were unstoppable and still Defence killed them in the end. Vincent Jackson, Philip Rivers and the whole cast and crew in Bolt land are ready to go 12 – 4 this year and secure home field, the D is solid and the run game is intact, however there is still a little more learning o go through. The Chargers loose it at the end, even with leads throughout the game. San Diego will improve and eventually make it to the finals but on this night it is clear, it will be a shootout but Brady will have the final drive to win. 34 – 27 S @ 8:20pm Philadelphia at Atlanta – One of the most interesting stories really comes full circle as the most entertaining man in football goes home to where it all started, feel apart and only now has just started to recover. Michael Vick has a lot to prove not to anyone else but himself. He must win a title to become of the greats, and he must go through the shadows and demons that lie in Atlanta for him. On the other side of the field is the saviour of the Falcons. Matt Ryan put on a show for the NFL family, shocking most with his poise and Manning like play calling. However with a disappointing loss last week and a lack of offence overall who knows what team will show up on Sunday Night Football. I hope it’s the best one they can muster up. Because aside from the Packers there is not better team in the NFC then the Eagles. They are mean on both sides of the ball and refuse to lose to anyone. For that simple reason and there blood thirsty D, it’s clear that even if the Falcons bring there A game they will fall to the mightier Eagles, unless Vick has a breakdown on the inside. Philly takes it 31 – 24.

FANTASY Player Picks:
Fantasy stud of the week will be Ray Rice who will devastating the safeties on the Titans Defence. The front 7 will not be able to contain the beast. Fantasy dud of the week will be Chris Johnson who will still gaining rhythm and timing with Matt Hasselbeck will not be able to put it together against the best Defence in the league. The Ravens will hold Johnson to under 60 yards.
